Gastroenterology
Our gastroenterology department specializes in conditions affecting the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. From common everyday complaints to persistent chronic discomfort, we carefully identify the underlying cause and recommend appropriate treatment.
Symptoms We Can Help With
Please do not dismiss your symptoms as “just a minor issue.” If any of the following persist, we encourage you to visit us promptly:
- Stomach pain, heaviness or discomfort around the upper abdomen
- Heartburn, acid reflux, or a sensation in the throat
- Abdominal pain, bloating, or general discomfort
- Persistent constipation or a feeling of incomplete bowel movements
- Sudden diarrhea, or alternating between diarrhea and constipation
- Loss of appetite, nausea, or a feeling of fullness after eating
- Abnormal findings in the stomach, intestines, or liver detected during a health check-up
Conditions We Treat
We identify the underlying cause of your symptoms and provide standard, guideline-based treatment tailored to your individual needs.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) For symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, chronic cough, or throat discomfort, we prescribe acid-suppressing medications and provide lifestyle guidance.
Gastritis, Gastric Ulcer & Duodenal Ulcer We treat stomach pain, bloating, and loss of appetite by addressing the underlying cause — whether stress, medication use, or H. pylori infection. If H. pylori infection is suspected, we offer testing and eradication therapy.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) For chronic abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, or excessive gas — symptoms that often go undetected in standard testing — we provide medication and lifestyle guidance tailored to your symptoms and daily habits.
Acute Gastroenteritis & Infectious Enteritis For sudden abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, or fever, we assess hydration status, perform necessary tests, and administer intestinal regulators or IV drips to relieve symptoms.
Constipation & Functional Dyspepsia When constipation or persistent stomach discomfort occurs without a clear structural cause, we address lifestyle habits and autonomic nervous system balance as part of a personalized treatment approach.
Examination & Treatment Process
1. Consultation & Medical History We will ask in detail about when your symptoms began, their timing (after meals, on an empty stomach, etc.), bowel habits, weight changes, and any medications you are currently taking.
2. Recommended Tests
- Blood tests, abdominal ultrasound, stool examination
- If endoscopy (gastroscopy or colonoscopy) is required, we will discuss your preferences and risk factors before proceeding.
3. Treatment We select from acid-suppressing medications, gastrointestinal motility regulators, intestinal regulators, laxatives, antidiarrheals, and Kampo herbal medicines based on your symptoms and background. We also provide practical, realistic advice on lifestyle improvements, including diet, eating habits, alcohol and tobacco use, sleep, and stress management.
We Recommend a Visit If:
