Hello, I am Dr. Takatoshi Joyama, Director of Joyama International Clinic.
My medical journey has taken me across both Japan and China. After graduating from a medical university in China, I earned my PhD in Japan, conducted research in fundamental medicine, and subsequently obtained my Japanese medical license.

During my time in the gastroenterology department at JCHO Kani Tono Hospital, I repeatedly witnessed patients who struggled to communicate their symptoms due to language barriers, their faces filled with anxiety. Later, as director of the Morishige Clinic in Shanghai, China, I saw Japanese patients living abroad desperately hoping to receive the same standard of care they were accustomed to back home. These experiences gave me a profound understanding of the challenges of cross-border healthcare — and the vital importance of bridging that gap.

Through these experiences, I came to understand firsthand the anxiety felt by foreign nationals in Japan, and by Japanese people receiving medical care abroad. I became deeply convinced that language and cultural differences must never stand in the way of proper treatment. Driven by this belief, I made the decision to open this clinic in 2014, with the mission of providing "healthcare beyond borders — where everyone feels safe."

Today, as Chairman of the Medical Corporation Koshōkai, I remain committed to serving as a bridge between Japan and the world. Whether you have recently arrived from overseas or have long called Japan your home, we are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone can receive medical care with confidence and peace of mind.
